01. INTRODUCTION

Here is a collection of logos and marks that I've designed over the last few years. Each of these started in a sketchbook, on a class notebook, or in my mind, and miraculously made its way to my computer. Here I describe what the thought process behind each of the logos was.

02. Logos & their thought process
Backshore Learning
Description
I was hired to design a book cover and logo. I created the book cover first. The logo should carry a similar vibe and the same color palette as the cover. So in the logomark, there is a book on the shore. The book illustration has no details because the details can't be seen clearly in mediums with a smaller vision scope. I also made a black and white version of the logo for a professional look for corporate use.
Osmosis IITG
Description
I redesigned the existing logo to represent the youth and curiosity to learn in students. The colors of logomark were changed from black and white to vibrant colors to express the desire to gain knowledge. The logotype was also changed to a smooth type to represent the smooth flow of knowledge through the platform. Only the logomark will be present in mediums having a smaller scope of vision.
Aspire.IITG
Description
Aspire.IITG is an e-learning platform that has both courses taught by departments of IITG and resources shared by the various clubs. So I decided to make a logotype as a combination of 2 fonts - a modern Sans Serif font (Futura Medium) and a Serif font (Nexa Slab). Golden flower is also made above IITG to represent the platform's modernity where students can learn any skill and about any course taught by the institute.
WYGA 2019 Paris
Description
World Youth General Assembly 2019 Paris started a logo challenge for its 3rd edition in which the focus should be on cooperation and sustainable development goals. So I thought the logo should contain a globe representing the world. Sustainable development is shown through the 17 colors representing the SD goals. And the youth holding hands around the globe is showing both cooperation and youth.
Edubuddy
Description
Edubuddy is an upcoming Indian startup that provides mentorship and academic infrastructure in India's 4th-grade and rural areas. So I thought the logo be a logomark with a yellow student and a mentor mentoring him in blue. A book is also shown in front of them with a pen-like structure representing the infrastructure Edubuddy provides to rural India's government schools.
Kriti
Description
Kriti is the inter hostel technical and management festival organized by Technical Board, IIT Guwahati. The requirement was for a Logotype. So I used a festive font for Kriti and utilized various elements representing the technical clubs in it. e.g., the rupee sign represents the finance-related clubs, and curly brackets represented coding club. The color scheme of the logo is the same as of Technical Board.
Ela Housings
Description
Ela Housing is an imaginary construction company that makes houses for the elite class of society. I thought the logo should be kept minimal with subtle meanings for such high-level and sophisticated people to target. The logomark is like a 3d cube of an arrangement of bricks. The company's initials, i.e., EH, are hidden in plain sight in the cube's front and side view.
DreamHex Builders
Description
DreamHex Builders is an imaginary construction company that helps people create their strong and earthquake-resistant dream homes. So I thought with hex in their name, the hexagon must be the basis of the logo. So I used three hexagons of varying sizes. As this is a construction company, I have made a cube-like structure by using different grey shades to represent a room/ house.
Valentino Builders
Description
Valentino Builders is an imaginary construction company that builds big apartment complexes for couples or nuclear families living in Seattle. So the name suggests it builds apartments with love, so I thought the logo's overall shape should tell heart. Also, the color I used represents love. The primary logo shows two apartment complexes representing towers in Seattle.
Viva la Cafe
Description
Viva la Cafe is an imaginary cafe in France that is a modern cafe that serves it's customers' organic tastes of coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and cakes. So I thought to represent modernity, we should go with minimalism. The logo represents a cup in which the cafe serves its coffee. The logo is in the shape of V, the initials of the restaurant. The color scheme of the logo represents food and is found to be increasing appetite.
Boozinga
Description
Boozinga is an imaginary bar cum restaurant based in Valencia, Spain, which serves the best of sangria, wine, beer, and local delicacies best in the area. As the more significant part of boozinga is the bar. So I made a logo that gives the feel of a beer bottle by three stripes representing the fingers around the bottle and the bottle's mouth. The color scheme of the logo matches with that of old wine or liquor.
